    Question Unanswered: PL/SQL help

    Hello there !

    I have a table called style

    style_id, ==> primary key
    class_code,
    subclass_code,
    style_aka,
    style_desc

    I have a cursor which is updating the all the style fields
    except style_id (primary key)
    based on some condition.
    I have to find out those records which are not updated by the cursor and I have to insert those records into another table style_err

    HOW WOULD I DO THIS EFFICIENTLY IF THERE ARE MILLIONS OF ROWS IN MY STYLE TABLE?
    CAN I USE BULK BINDING IN HERE??? if yes.. HOW ???

    I appreciate all your help in this. Thanks !!!

    PL/SQL Help

    Is there a way to create another table (Style-2) without reference to Style? If the table is used 24/7, I'd build a Style-2 table and then rename Style to Style-old and Style-2 to Style. Build Style-2 without indexes, then create the indexes in parallel.

    Ask Tom has a good example you might want to try.

    Ah, I misunderstood the question -- that example is dead-on! Good job!
