    Unanswered: learning oracle

I've begun to learn database's and DB related programming in the past couple of months. So far I've been mainly working with PHP,MySQL,Perl, Access (ODBC), and a little MS SQL Server. I would really love to learn oracle. I'm really not sure where to start or what to begin to learn as they have a large assortment of products. I'm mainly interested in database development, DB application development and web development using databases. I would like to learn in depth these areas with Oracle. I guess my question is which Oracle product do I need to work with? and what other tools do I need to learn? Is say the Oracle 9i database the product that would encompass those areas? Or is one of there web poducts more suitable? Also, i'll have to learn PL/SQL , what do I need to get started with that? I'd also like to buy a good book or two on Oracle regarding the topics I've mentioned above. If anyone could give me a little direction and advice here it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Download Oracle 10G database from Oracle web site for free. (might as well go with the latest)
Buy Oracle PL/SQL Programming by Steven Feuerstein www.oreilly.com
Buys some kind of "Oracle Essentials" book (O'Reily site probably has one)

You may want to check out Oracle Forms for front end development.
You can do front end in Access.
You did not list Java in your list but now you can program in Java instead of PL/SQL (which I don't )

What's wrong with taking a class at a community college on Oracle? I haven't yet, but was seriously considering it for either the summer or the fall.

    TIA.
All code ADO/ADOX unless otherwise specified.

Well, if you realy want to then just make sure the instructor is good, or you'll waste time and just get frustrated with bullshit assignments.
