Unanswered: SQLPLus not using SID enviromental variable

    Setup: 9i on W2K

I am running a DOS script from command line. My default value for SID is ltbci92. I run a script that contains:

    set SID=bci92
    sqlplus user/passwd @iam

    iam.sql contains:
    select name from v$database

    The result is always LTBCI92.

Am I doing something wrong or is this the correct behavior?

    You need to set ORACLE_SID=bci92

    Should work as expected then...
