    Unanswered: Oracle Startup

I'm learning database development and I finally got Oracle installed in my own computer. The problem is I don't know how to find the startup options so I can disable it completely. I want to be able to use the database but I don't want my computer to know it even exists unless I go to use it.

Can anyone help? Right now the Oracle.exe and Apache.exe are always on so I want to do somethign to change that.

    Thanks!

    Alex

    Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es

there you will find all the oracle processes and services installed

    Assuming you are Windows based:

    START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS/SERVICES

    Look up anything ORACLE

Change 'Startup type' to MANUAL for any Oracle service by double-clicking each Oracle Service and changing the startup type.

just change to manual any service you don't want running.
If your system gives you errors on the next startup then re-enable the service
