Unhappy Unanswered: MS SQL to MySQL Conversion

I'm trying to move data from our SQL Server over to a MySQL server and am trying to accomplish this using DTS. However, when I run DTS to move the data I get the following error:

Error at destination for row number 1. Errors encountered so far in this task: 1.
Query-based insertion or updating of BLOB values is not supported.

Any help with getting this data over would be greatly appreciated...

Ok, I figured out that it's the "text" type fields in the source table that's causing the problem and I figured out that I could set the destination field to a varchar(255) and trim the text coming over to only 255 characters but is there a better way to do this? I really need *all* the characters in the text and not just 255. Can someone please help me with this?
