Yes, there are several tools that will do this. I don't know of any tools that are accepted "standards" within the industry, everybody seems to more or less "roll their own" depending on the needs of the moment. What exactly are you looking for, something that will extract basic column definitions, or something more complex?
Thanks for responding, Pat. Yes, it would need to be significantly more complex. It would need to do the same kinds of things that some schema comparison tools do: compare fields, field lengths, indexes, stored procedures, and other aspects of the schema but probably excluding the data itself.
