Exclamation Unanswered: Memo Field Defaulting to 255 characters

How do I get the memo field to stop defaulting to 255 characters or why is this happening?

In what? Or on what? Memo's have a max limit of 65536 characters ... Where are your retrieving the memo field?
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

I have it in a table....It was working previously...right now I have about 15,000 records in this table...Suddenly someone told me that it only allows them to enter in so much then it erases everything else...My final determination is that the the field itself is defaulting...to 255 characters.

a memo field doesn't have a default length (well, actually it does - 8 bytes if i remember correctly).

are you sure you dont have a text field?

Yes indeed ... For the pointer to the memory location containing the actual text ...
