    Unanswered: inserting text into database

I am new here and I have little knowledge of access.

I have a php script which insert data into an access 97 database. I am having problems inserting values over 70 characters into a text field. I thought the max value for a text field was 255. All the other field appear to insert fine. Does anyone have any ideas as 2 why this won't work or where I could look?

Have a look at your table Definition. Go to the table in Design View - click on the field and look at the "Field Size" property. This will probably be set to 70. You can change this to 255 and save - then you can add more to the column.

If it's not this 0 there may be an issue during the transfer of data.

When you say you are having "trouble" inserting values over 70 characters, what do you mean? Is an error message generated (if so, which one)? Does it look like it transfers fine, but the whole data is missing from Access?

Where are you getting the data from? Another database? What kind of variables are you holding the data in before it goes to Access?
