    Unanswered: Backup - Restore

    Environment - NT - UDB DB2 6.1

    I've backup file in prod box, need to restore in Test box with new name.

    How to do this ?

    Any proper syntax ?

    I'm new to DB2.

    Are the container and database paths to be reused?

    If so :
    RESTORE DATABASE <origname> INTO <newname;

    If not, you're in a spot of trouble...

    for different containers, use the set tablespace container command:

    restore db db1 from /dbbkup into db2
    replace existing redirect parallelism 200;

    set tablespace containers for 1 using
    (
    File '/db01/db2inst1/db2/tbs1.db2' 1000
    )
    ;

    set tablespace containers for 2 using
    (
    path '/db02/db2inst1/db2/tbs_temp4k',
    path '/db02/db2inst1/db2/tbs_temp4k',
    path '/db02/db2inst1/db2/tbs_temp4k'
    )
    ;

    set tablespace containers for 28 using
    (
    File '/db01/db2inst1/db2/tbs28.db2' 5000
    )
    ;

    restore db db1 continue;
