    Unanswered: Database

Can anybody please advise, I wish to use a Access database attached to web front end, and the web front-end will be used to query and search data from the database, this will be used by thousands of web users at the same time, would Microsoft Access be a good solution as the database, or should I look at another type of database to use in this situation?

    I would appreciate your advice.

1000s of users with Access is asking for trouble. I would upgrade to SQL Server. You can download the free SQL Server MSDE to try it out however there is a limit of 20 users.

Another free option would be MySQL. It is of note that php+MySQL is the most common free platform in use for active pages. There is a MySQL forum on this board that you may find useful.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
