    Angry Unanswered: Not finding the DB

    I have Oracle 8.1.6 in a Suse 8.0 Linux platform. It was working fine as a local server until I tried to connect to a DSL modem (which did not work either anyway). Now none of my Java applications/code can find the oracle database. I know it is running and that the listner is running as well and I did not change the port configuration of Oracle. So, none of the regular things I could think of were altered. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Patient: Doctor, I used to feel OK. Now I feel sick. Please tell me what's wrong.

    Can you connect to the DB using anything other than your previous Java code?

    Unhappy

    Well, that is exactly my problem. I have not idea since I did not do any other thing than try to get a DSL connection to work with my laptop. The connection did not work and after that I was not able to find the database anymore. The way I was connecting to it in the java code was in the very standard JDBC way:
    Class.forName("Oracle.Driver...");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,password);
    Statment stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(sql);

    My database is working in port 1521

    The error I get is:
    IO exception: The Network Adapter could not establis the connection.
    That is all I have.
