    EPERM: Operation not permitted

    Looks like root is the only user who can write files in this directory.

    Cannot create tablespace

    It finally worked after I created raw I/O and mapped it to my datafile like

    raw /dev/raw/raw1 /dev/hda2

    and then

    create tablespace ORADATA datafile '/dev/raw/raw1' size 2000m;

    and it worked.I may need to see if this works perfectly.
