    Exclamation Unanswered: Blank Form

I have "frmMain" which is open from switchboard. Each time user opens this form i would like the form to be open as Blank (or as new record). How can i do that ?

There are probably several ways to do this.....

One you could put a filter on the form that will definetly not return a record such as filter for the primary key = 0 or something.

    Or

i think you could also issue

    DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

somewhere when your form first opens....try in the form load or form open event

    Or

You could also make the form a data entry only form by setting the Data Entry property of the form to Yes (true)

    good luck

Also by pressing ALT+F11 you can bring up the VBA window. In there you should be able to find the code that opens your main form from the switchboard. When you find that change the command to:

    Code:
DoCmd.OpenForm "Your Form Name Here", acNormal, , , acFormAdd
    Hope this helps some.

Have you ever thought about thinking on purpose?

create macro, set as editform for the given form and set the button on switchboard to open the macro
