    Exclamation Unanswered: Cannot delete table

I've got a large Access DB and there is one table that I cannot delete, it gives me a message "Database engine could not lock table <tablename>, it is already in use by another user or process".

Can anyone tell me how to view the processes that may be in running in an Access DB, as no one else has access to this database.

I have a idea that this has something to do with the system tables...I copied the database to another location and deleted all the objects, tables, queries, etc, once everything was gone except this table, I compacted the DB and then tried again, same message.

The database has a file size that is quite large, however I believe that is only due to this table doing something screwy.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    TIA

Do you have the table open when you're trying to delete it?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

Thumbs down Nothing open or running ...

No. The table is not open. Nothing is running process-wise and nothing is open.

How can you execute a command to delete the table if no processes are running.

    Something is missing here.

What method are you using to delete the table?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

    Lightbulb Just using Delete Key

I am trying to delete it by highlighting it and using the delete key. Although I could try deleting it in a code window, using the deleteobject command....? Wonder if that will work..

This table is very old as far as the database is concerned. I believe there are some suspect entries in the system tables that are preventing it from being deleted.

Thanks for your assistance so far...
