    Unanswered: Not putting correct value

I have a combo box that picks salesman's initials.
The source is a table that has:
    1 CP
    2 JF
    3 MD
    4 TD
    5 WT

I have in the combo box propoerties data section:
    Row source type Table/Query
    Row Source TblSalesman
Bound Column 2 (This is where the initials are)

Whenever I try to enter the initials in the box, an error comes up saying the that it won't take it and I may be using text where a number is supposed to be used.
That is not the exact message but that is what it says.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How many columns are listed in the properties of your combo box? It sounds like there might be a hidden column (size = 0) in your control source.

I would bind to column one, the set the length to 0";1"

    That should work fine.

Also, make sure the column count is 2
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

I did indeed have it as you said in your example.

    No hidden columns

    I figured it out though.

It was not fair. I really did not give you guys enough information.
My source table for our (work order) did not have the salesman as a combo box. Also it was looking for text not a number. Well the salesman ID is obviously a number and it gave me errors.

    Thanks for the quick response!
