We had a failure this past weekend. We had 10 datafile with corruption, 1 redo log with corruption. We have recovered from this failure after a few difficulties. Oracle, Aix 5x (p690 shark). We use raw datafiles. A hot backup was running at the time with a lot of user activity. All of the datafiles were located within the same volume group.

The above section was the first occurrance of any problems. Luckily, our most severe corruption was on an index datafile and I just rebuilt it. All my data datafiles recovered from previous nights backup with no problem. I was just wandering if anyone has experience a similar situation with this combination of hardware and activity. I know it is hard to pinpoint down the cause of block corruptions and we probably never will be able to. Just thought I would ask for anyones opinions. I have not been able to find any known bugs or bulletins with this combination. Thanks in advance.
