    a user complains from the following error

    On REG1 instance, a database link called DWH was created to access AD instance . Trying to access any objects from REG1 to AD instance the following error message appears:

    SQL> connect wh/ex@ad
    Connected.

    SQL> connect rgt/en@reg1
    Connected.

    SQL> select * from vrui@fred;

    select * from vrui@fred

    *
    ERROR at line 1:

    ORA-02068: following severe error from FRED
    ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

    Any idea!!

    I think you should use the database link name not the instance name. If you use the instance name, why need to bother to create a db link name?
