    Unanswered: Cannot Update Record

Hey guys, i have a subform, the form has details of students and the subform has details of the courses they are studying. I wish to be able to add new students or edit the details of their courses.

The problem i have is, i can add/edit the student information eaisly.....but the course information produces the error "cannot update record". This form/subform is produced from a query.

    Thanks.

Open the subform from the database window at the Design level. Make sure that the Allow Edits, Allow Deletions, and Allow Additions properties are set to Yes.

Hi, they are all set to yes, the actual error is "field cannot be updated".

If your query has more then one table in it, that could be the issue. I believe a query is only updateable with one table.

the query your subform is based on should be just the table of courses. Your subform would then be linked to the master form through the link child fields and link master fields.
