    Toss this in a module:

    Declare Function GetUserName Lib "advapi32.dll" Alias "GetUserNameA" _
    (ByVal lpBuffer As String, nSize As Long) As Long

    Usage:

    strUser = String$(15, " ")
    lngBufLen = 15
    User = GetUserName(strUser, lngBufLen)
    oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

    Do you want the network user name like Teddy's example or do you want the Access username?

    For the Access use the CurrentUser method ...

    Example:

    CurrentUserLbl.Caption=CurrentUser()
    Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...
