    Unanswered: display current date

    Hello,

I need to display the current date in a textbox of a form when inserting a new record. I know there is the expression builder of access which lets me display the current date, however when access wants to save the new record an error occurs that the date textbox does not contain a value (its a PK) though its displayed in the form. Any ideas how I can save the record/ how to solve that problem. Thanks a lot for your help !!

    Hi

Check the textbox is bound to a control source! Then set the default value to =Now() for date time or =Date() for date only (If it is your PK then Now() would be probably be better - in fact better to store the time and never use it than store the date and wish you have the time at a later date).

Thanks for your help. It works fine now.
The Date attribute is only part of the PK, so I think its enough to store just the date.
