    Hiya Shawn,

Solved cases is now reserved only for users with mySybase acount.

I see that you regularly ask for the contents from Solved cases, you should contact Sybase Tech Support for access to the library.

    Cheers,
    Willy

    Here it is ...

    Problem Description:
How to configure and connect to EAServer running through a NAT (Network Address Translation) firewall ?

    Tip or Workaround:
Assuming your host name is jagserver.sybase.com.
In the outside world, this host name is mapped to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx which is a translated address for the internal ip address yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy.
You then set up your firewall to forward all packets on port 9000 from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy.
To get Jag to respond to accept these packets, you map your listener jagserver.sybase.com and then create a host file entry on jagserver.sybase.com to map jagserver.sybase.com to the local ip address, yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy.

    Problem Description:
EAS/Powerbuilder will not connect behind a firewall.

    Tip or Workaround:

    Resolution:
To allow EAS to connect from behind a firewall you must change listener port from local host to DNS name or IP. Locla host is 127.0.0.1 and this is not a valid IP for DNS connections through a firewall
