    Unanswered: Dopey problem with subforms

    I know this is dopey, so I apologize in advance, but it is making me nuts and I do need some help. I think the problem lies within my thinking, rather than my ability to use Access.

    I've created a form with three tabbed subforms (representing different product lines) that will enable users to create purchase orders. How do I get a product record to load automatically into any of the subforms when the user selects a product name from a drop-down list? Right now, I can get the product name to display, but not the associated record data. And, of course, users need to be able to make modifications to the loaded product data (such as price adjustments, etc.) that will not impact the source records.

    See? Very basic. Thanks very, very much in advance for your help.

    Sorry if this is not the problem, but set the combo box after update procedure to change the current record to the currect product. The row source for the combo box might be:

    "SELECT ProductName FROM tblProducts ORDER BY ProductName"

    and the event procedure might be:

    Dim rec As Recordset
    Set rec = Me.RecordsetClone
    rec.FindFirst "ProductName = '" & Me.cboProductName & "'"
    Me.Bookmark = rec.Bookmark

    Then the subforms will point to the correct product as long as they are linked over the ProductName field.

    Hope this helps,
