Unanswered: MS Access - ODBC table copying from MySQL

    Hi all,

My situation...I have a client that wants to maintain their own Access database with a timely dump of information from our MySQL table linked via ODBC. There table structure will be slightly different from the original MySQL table.

My questions...I can use "make table query" to copy the MySQL table to a local Access table. However, how would I be able to "append" new records only (append query....well, appends) after the original make? The rule being to only add new records to the Access table (not overwrite them!). Also, since the table schema is different, a standard "make table" (as I know it) would not allow for mapping the MySQL tables to the Access tables. Is there any way of mapping fields rather than just copying the table structure over?

If this isn't enough information, let me know....Many, many thanks to the gurus for your help!!!!

    Best,
    DrS

    got it...

Okay, silly me....this is just an append query. If the PKs are setup correctly, this should accomplish what I need.
