    Exclamation Unanswered: utl_file_dir

    Hello,

I'm accesing to a database that outside of my company (Client's one) using a DBLINK, and I ran a query, Now I want to generate a trace file to use tkprof later, but I dont have access to the utl_file_dir of my client. I would like to generate those trace files in my local server.

    Is it possible ?

    Thanks !

Theoretically yes, but I seriously recommend that you do NOT do it.
Yes, open up your system & firewall so that the client can mount your filesystem across the unsecured Internet & give them the ability to write to your volume. Also you'd have to change the destination for the dump/trace files.

A wiser plan would be to simply have them email the trace file to you.
