    Unanswered: Millisecond in timestamp field.

    Using oracle version 9.2.0.1.0

    created a table with column that has type timestamp.

    This insert does not work:

    insert into aa values (to_timestamp('10-Jan-04 11:13:34.001','dd-Mon-yy hh24:mi:ss.ms'));

    error is: date format not recognized

    how to insert millisecond in timestamp field?
    Oracle can do wonders !

    Use 'FF' instead of 'ms' for miliseconds. 'FF' stands for the fractional seconds; always use two FF's, regardless of the number of decimal digits you wish to see or use.
