My first thought will be to check the OS level and minimum patch requirements for the version of db2 you are using ...

Quick Beginnings guide will have this information

    More Clues.

    Hi Sathyaram

The necessary patches and the OS Version is also correct. Now we are doing a clean up of the previous install in case there are any traces of the same.

Any more thoughts will be appreciated.

    Regards

    Nitin.

    Installation Hangs on Summary Screen

    Hi,

We have crossed the inital hurdles as mentioned above however now we are stuck at the next frontier!!!

We are facing an issue while installing DB2 V8.1 on Solaris V8 which is a SPARC Setup. We have been through the quick beginnings and the installation guidelines and our Kernel and the Operating System have been tuned to accommodate all the recommended service levels and fixpacks.

Now while we are installing the software the installation hangs (goes into an infinite loop) on the Summary Page. Could you please guide us how we can go about resolving/tracing where the issue is so that we can get adequate support and resolution for the same.

    Please guide!!! ASAP!!

Have you tried running the setup in debug mode

    db2setup -d

This option will generate a trace of the setup operation

    Cheers
