How or why did you ever conclude that the Configuration Assistant is the proper utility to start Oracle instances?

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

    misunderstanding

i've never conclude that the Configuration Assistant is the proper utility to start Oracle instances. it's the Configuation Assistant that can't start, then i can't remove my instance in the usual and "clean" way.
i think i'm gonna use ORADIM and remove manually the datafile, control files and so on...
but i'm not sure this is enough to have a clean configuration at the end ot the process.
