Unanswered: Form Security Question - Newbie
I have an Access Form, that has two fields:
That seems to work ok.
Now my big question is, how can i set user access levels to the different users, so that one type of users have free access to all fields and other users just have read only.
In my personnal table i have a field named "Level" that is used to define the user access level - like this:
- 1 (Administrator)
- 2 (Read Only)
Can this be done?
Yes Sure this can be done and shouldn't be difficult to implement.
What you have to do is to read the value from that variable and use the following for oncurrent event of the form for which you want to enable to disable the edits
form.allowedits = IIF(Level = 1, True, False)
I hope this will help
i cant seem to put it to work. i forgot to tell you that the login it´s on one form, and the rest of the fields are in other form. so this code doesn´t work.
In that case just open the login form first and hide it when you validate the users and open the other form where you want to control the access level of the users as normal users or administrator and then you can reference the level field by using
form.allowedits = IIF(Forms!FrmLogon!level = 1, True, False)
Sorry for the late reply but I was away from my office for some days...
Need Help with this- please!
