Lightbulb Unanswered: how to get an lob out of the database

    Hi,

I'm having a problem with a database (8.0.5) that has a table with a blob field in it. When running daily export, it gives :
    .......
    . . exporting table MN1
    EXP-00056: ORACLE error 1555 encountered
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number with name "" too small
    ORA-22924: snapshot too old

how can I get the data out of it when export is not working? Other tables with blobs in it, have no problem.

The data that is in the table is about 500MB big ... and the blob object is in the same tablespace as the other fields and tables of the db-schema.

Can anyone help me out with this.
    thanks

Educate yourself on ORA-01555 errors by going to http://asktom.oracle.com
and doing a keyword search on this error code.
    a) you could try running the export during periods of low change activity
    b) you could try to throw resources at this probem by making rollback bigger
    c) I don't know if this would help but try CONSISTENT=NO
    d) I don't know if this would help but try BUFFER=32000000 DIRECT=YES
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
