guys, there's no need to post a new thread to report bad posts, just click on the little exclamation mark at the top right of the post, and one of the moderators (whose ranks have recently been increased by, ahem, one more) will take care of it

Clicking the exclaimation point seems to produce results after I post a message, but so far hasn't made diddly-squat difference unless I post the message. I take it that you expect that things will operate differently now than they operated when this thread started, eh?

Congratulations!

I have to say that I think that bodes well for dbforums in general. The lack of active moderation has been a sore point with me for some time... It is good to see that TPTB are correcting that problem!

well, it wasn't TPTB

them are still AWOL

it was another moderator, who happens to be the former owner of the site before it was sold to TPTB

and i took the initiative of emailing him and asking him to set me up

Well, I'm glad to see that you're a moderator, regardless of how that came to be. I think that having an active moderator on board will fix a number of my long standing issues with this site and the way that it has (or more accurately hasn't) been run!

Thanks for "stepping up" to fill the void!
