DBForums Intermittently Hangs

Hi Dennis

Well done on your work again - there is a real buzz around now - people are talking about FAQs, coming back to the forum etc..

Anyhoo - minor matter - don't know if anyone else has experienced it but I keep finding that navigating the site\ posting results in a really long delay every so often. Sometimes I end up at some sort of timeout page that tells me you've been sent an email.

I thought it was the work Proxy but I'm experiencing the same at home and navigating other sites at the same time seems fine.

I think it has only been happening since the upgrade.

Cheers

I have been experiencing the same issue off and on. Nothing consistent, but certainly annoying.

Yup. And sometimes I can't go backward through my browse history, and it lists some odd site named something like inetjuggler in the history list.

Hi Dennis

Still having problems - in fact I tried to post on this a few days ago but the particular problem was not being able to post lol.

Also - just noticed this:
http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=1209257

The thread was only started a day or two ago according to the header info.

Ta!

Thanks, pootle flump.

I removed one, but left the one with reponses.

Looks like it was just a little blurp though.

If you see anything like that, please report it.

Thanks!

yep
i am noticing it too..
both from home and work, and i am on high... high speed...

about the least slow page is the main page. almost everything else draggs azzz

multiple times i have hit stop and resubmitted.. and it ends up submitting the post 2 times.

so....
the post speed (database insert) of my click to the forum does not seem to be effected.. its the return trip of displaying the information to me.

i have seen some website that use the rotating ad banners like you guys do... but because the ad companies infrastrusture is so poorly constructed or they ahve sucha high load
the main site drags azzzz... much like what is happening here.

try this...
for a day (or at least a few hours), try disabling / removing the ad rotator and any links to the banner ads... that might be what the problem is.
