Login issues

I log in...then leave the site open. After a while I assume I'm timing out.

When i come back in...and try to re-log in, I enter my credentials, and i end up on the front page showing all of the forums...but nothing has happened. No messages saying I did something wrong...

If i enter the wrong password I get "you have so many more attempts" message.

I have to end up killing all of my IE browser windows to re-log in.

I'm not sure if this is by design, but I don't enjoy it.

Thanks

Does this continue to be an issue for you?

Can you let us know what version browser you're using?

Are you ticking "remember me" when you log in?

It's not an issue at the moment (due to remember me?).

IE 8.06

I had not clicked remember me at the time...I have since then selected this option.

I don't think "remember me" is necessarily the solution though. I just wanted to be able to reauthenticate after timing out. I seemingly had to close my browser sessions to force a "reboot" of my information.

You're probably right. But we start with the basics when troubleshooting.

As long as it's working now .... We can just chalk it up to one of them blasted hiccups that occur at the most inopportune moments.

Let's just have a drink and work through it if it ever comes up again.

Hopefully we scared away the computer gremlins.

Hey SoftWareRevue...no dice.

I tried to edit one of my posts, and I got "a security token is missing message". I was still logged in as i had the "edit" button on my post....I logged out, killed all IE sessions, came back, re-logged in and was able to post.
