oracle optimisation

Hi,

I am looking into testing Oracle performance as one of my course assignments.

I was thinking of looking into the optimisation of SQL statements. Has anyone got any ideas what kind of things I could look at doing as I am at a blank at the moment!

Any links to sites etc would be really useful!
