Unhappy Installation Error in PC Client on Windows XP

I am not able to install PC Client of Sybase ASE ver 12.0 on clients having latest Windows XP OS. I guess there is some conflict with Java version but not able to figure out. The error message which I get during installation says "JRE.exe has encountered some error"

Please help.

Thanks,

try this

set environment variable for java to NONE.

create a new env variable , in XP
Variable name= JAVA_COMPILER
value = NONE

Also check if you have the latest JDK installed
