Error Installing Sybase ASE 15.0.2

Hi,

I am trying to install ASE 15.0.2 on a Red Hat EL 4.0 (on a virtual machine).

I am getting the following error: -

(Jul 18, 2008 1:57:03 PM), Setup.product.install, com.sybase.ismp.ase.wizardbean.ExecCommandWithProg ress$ExecCommandOutputHandler, err, Server 'RAPCache' was not created.

(Jul 18, 2008 1:57:03 PM), Setup.product.install, com.sybase.ismp.ase.wizardbean.ExecCommandWithProg ress$ExecCommandOutputHandler, err, /opt/sybase/RAP/RAPCache/ASE-15_0/bin/dataserver: error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can any1 please help me resolve this? I'm a newbie when it comes to databases.

Thanks,

If you have properly unloaded all the software required, then its just most likely a path issue. Do a find for libaio.so.1 and see if its in the path.

Usually Sybase provides you an environment script eg., SYBASE.csh, SYBASE.sh which you must source before starting an install.
