to trace the connect and disconnect

Hi,

When I try to connect the server from a c++ program (library), it's failing.
Can somebody tell me how to trace this activity. I tried using dbcc traceon 11201 but didn't get any error message why it's unable to connect to the server. When we try manually connecting the server, we are able to but from the program it's not happening.
