Question Sybase ETL Javascript?

We are considering purchasing the Sybase ETL tool. We extract data from an Oracle Database, make some change, then insert it into an Sybase IQ database (sometimes we use Sybase ASE).

Currently we use Pervasive Data Integrator and are looking at other options since PDI doesn't support Sybase IQ 15 and we are going to be upgrading soon.

Anyway... we have been using a Demo of the Sybase ETL tool, and Sybase has said that for the Transform part of the tool it uses Javascript. However, it's not any javascript code that I've seen before... such as to concatenate two strings, you have to use a uConcat function. Which is not typical Javascript.

So I'm wondering if anyone here uses the Sybase ETL tool and if it is maybe Sybase's own form of Javascript, or what it is?

Thanks,
Cynthia
