I have a problem with online backup. My problem is, when we start online backup, the other system that rely on the database becomes slow. I know that it is expected but I'm looking for ways to minimize the slowness faced by the other system. Therefore I hope you can tell me if there is any workaround for this problem?

Normally we used to run backups during off production timing. Can you explain me your problem in detail? I feel you have to think about the job scheduling. Also if it is 24 *7 production and will not be given any time for any outage, then we have to check for number of cpus, shared memory values etc
