Hello,

I have rescued a device file (.dat) from a computer which has crashed.

Somebody knows if it is possible to open this device file in another computer and to dump the data from one db?

Sybase ASE: 15.0.3
O.S: Windows 7

Create an empty DB with the same amount and size of .dat files
Shutdown and replace the .dat files with the recovered files and restart
If you are lucky and the original db was inactive you'll have your DB back.

I guess, it will not work, It will only work if you use mount and unmount feature of ASE with menifest file. Thanks,
