Sybase IQ connection not killed

We have a process running for more than 3 days now and we can not do a 'drop connection <process id>' on it.

I tried to do sp_iqcontext <process id> to find out what it is running and its doing a table load.. and I have checked that the input file is gone.

This should be something a 'drop connection' should be able to handle but it looks like it is running into a black hole -- except we have to recycle IQ (which will be not acceptable to other users). Sad thing is its hogging almost 300 Gb of version on objects its using.

its always been like this. we are running IQ 12.7 on ESD5 running on Solaris 10, 64bit.
