ntpdate message on Unix Server

Hi All,

I posted this in the Oracle section just in case, so please excuse if this is redundant.

But here goes:

This past weekend I did a shutdown of our Oracle Production database along with the Unix/Solaris operating system along with powering off the CPU along with its peripherals.

When I went to start everything up....the Unix operation system came up fine, I logged in as root and I proceeded to startup the database and all the listeners via crontab. Everything came up nice and easy except for now on the Unix Console messages I keep getting this:

"Ntpdate[636]: ID 398266 daemon.notice] waiting 300 seconds before trying again."

I keep getting this message every 5 minutes, and I'm worried about it filling up the message log.

Anyone know what this could be??

Your help is appreciated.

Tony
