obtaining a value from one file and outputting to another
Hi,

Can anyone help.

I need to get an id number from one file ie filename1 and output it in the desired position in another file ie filename 2

Simplified

Get id from filename1 - it is in the tenth column

input it into filename 2 - in the second column of this file

pls post sample records from file1 and file2 AND also the desired end result.
