I posted another thread about "vi" and I later realize
that this is actually a shell question.

When I type "man time", the manual shows up at my window
but if I quit it ("q") my terminal goes back to the command
line and the text is gone.

Does someone remember how to stop this ?

What's your default program as pager? On Linux, "less" will clear the screen, and "more" won't. On AIX, both versions of these programs don't clear the screen in my installations.
