UNIX command to convert various file formats

Hi,

Can somebody help me to write a shell script to convert various file formats to flat flat file in UNIX? The input file can be in any format say, pdf,xml,xls etc;

I do not have any of the utilities installed on my UNIX box. Can somebody help to provide script for this?

Much appreciate early responses! Thank you...

Thumbs down No command

There is no standard Unix command to convert files from one to another of the formats you posted.
You would need to BUY a utility/program to do that (or maybe if you are lucky find a GNU one).

You could also just install the various utilities and then call them depending on what postfix your file has.
