Re: gcc install/compile problem in aix

Hi, Andrew,

This file holds a *.bff file and *.bff.asc file after you run the *.exe file. Then use smit to install the files as an aix package.

Hi all,

I have installed the gcc-3.0.1.exe into aix.
I search all the directories and files for "configure", "gmake"
but could not find them.

Is there anything missing? How can I use gcc?

thanks

andrew

For best resut, once you installed the gcc binary, download the gcc source, and compile it again with the gcc binary that was installed via smit. If that works, run compilation again, against the gcc source, with the new compiled gcc.

exe files in unix

Hi,

Just make the exe file executable - place it in a directory where you have room - and run it ./*.exe - it will expand into the *.bff and *.asc file - then run smitty and install the software. Make sure you don't have a previous .toc file in the directory - it you do, you must erase it.
