Arrow cannot update entry

when i try to login and give the passworrd i get this message:
ttyp.. cannot update entry. since then nobodtycan login not even from the console (tty03,tty04...)
the terminals that had already loged in before the problem starts can continue working but they can not exit
if i give w for those who can not login i get
ttyp33 ... login -c -p
i give then ps -ft ttyp33 and get the messege cannot update entry
moreover after tis problem i cannot shutdown the system properly.
any help?

Check your system log files. Are any of the partitions maxed out ?
