Tar directory with files, some > 2G

Trying to tar files in AIX, knowing the file limit is 2G, having many files and some of them are bigger than 2G, any ways to tar these files within a fdirectory?

You could try compressing the files;

tar cvf - my2Gfiles* | compress -c |split -b 2048m My2Gtar.tar.Z
