Lightbulb Unix Shell scripts

Hi All,

I have been struggling with a part of my script which should be calculating the difference in dates.
I got to know about a function "datediff" but i suppose it doesnot work well with Unix but requires SQL to be invoked within the script.
Can anyone suggest me an easy way to do this.

It would be really helpful if you can explain this with a sample code....Its an urgent need..

Thanks a lot,
Mithu
